Ketotifen is an antihistamine to prevent asthma attacks or anaphylaxis, as well as various allergic-type disorders. It prevents allergic reactions by reducing the release and blocking a certain natural substances that causes an allergic reaction. It reduces the effects of metabolic substances known as histamines which is the main reason for the allergy problems.
