Drug Uses
Indocin is applied to ease the inflammation and joint pain associated with moderate or severe rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It might also be prescribed by your doctor in the treatment of tendinitis (acute shoulder pain) or bursitis.
Usage
Kindly follow the instructions of your doctor throughout the medication of Indocin. If you feel half full and want to know everything clearly, read the instructions and ingredients given on the label. Kindly drink a whole glass of water along with Indocin or take it with any antacid.
Missed Dose
Do not miss any dose, incase if you missed any kindly take it as soon as possible. But keep in mind that you will have to modify your next dose by separating it out by 4 to 5 hours. If this mentioned method is not possible please skip the missed dose and continue as usual. Never try to adjust the missed dose by having a double dose concurrently. It may cause serious side effects.
Storage
Keep Indocin at room temperature away from heat, light, and moisture and also away from kids and pets.
Overdose
An excess dose of Indocin may have adverse effects that necessitate urgent medical attention. Contact the closest medical emergency center directly if you notice effects like disorientation, convulsions, dizziness, lethargy, intense headache, nausea, numbness, mental confusion, or tingling.
Side Effects
Only mild and temporary side effects will be there which will go by itself. These involve diarrhea; constipation; dizziness; headache; gas; stomach upset, heartburn; nausea.
But, in some cases, these mild side effects may continue or convert troublesome. In such cases, get medical attention ASAP.
Rarely, side effects may become severe severe allergic reactions (rash; itching; hives; tightness in the chest; trouble breathing; inflammation on the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); bloody or black or tarry stools; variation in the volume of urine produced; confusion; chest pain; dark urine; fainting; depression; fast or uneven heartbeat; chills, fever, or persistent sore throat; mood swings; the insensitivity of an arm or leg; one-sided infirmity; red, enlarged, blistered or peeling skin; ringing heard in the ears; seizures; sharp headache or dizziness; severe or continuous stomach pain or vomiting; unexpected or unexplained weight gain; uncommon bruising or bleeding; unusual joint or muscle pain; extreme tiredness or weakness; vision or speech differences; vomit that resembles coffee grounds; Skin or eyes yellowing.
Get medical attention if you see any of these side effects.
